I had 2 pair of Aldo shoes for a couple years, each cost $80, they were falling apart and lok like crap. Are impossible to clean and are all around terrible shoes and are even more uncomfortable.
Last year I went into O'Connors and told myself I was going to come out with a good pair of Allen Edmonds. These shoes are made in the US, from genuine materials, and are a very good shoe.
$400 later, I walked away with the best pair of shoes i've ever worn, which will last for the rest of my life.
Yes, $400 is expensive for a pair of shoes relative to Aldo, but if you get them resoled every once in a while, they will not fall apart and last forever.
I will never go back to an Aldo POS shoe.
And just because i'm a nice guy, and this thread was made at exactly the right time, O'Connors is having a mens shoe sale:
===========================================
99% of men wear really terrible shoes. Once you wear a pair of nice shoes, and you learn a bit about them, you will notice everyone's shoes. And you will see how much crap is out there. You can pick out the people who takes a bit of pride in what they wear. Not many men do. jeans and T-shirt are OK for a lot of people. That's just not my style.
Also, side note, get your pants hemmed. 99% of men wear pants that are way too long. Stuff off the rack is made to fit as many people as possible. It is not made to fit you. Spend the $10 when you buy a nice pair of slacks.

The other thing you can do is figure out your shoe size and order off ebay. There are lots of used AE shoes on there for less than $100. This makes the most sense to me and I did this with my second pair. Got a nearly new pair of wingtips for $88. I'm wearing them now actually.
