I would say, keep checking the used Musical Instruments on Kijiji. Garrison guitars (Canadian made, now owned and operated by Gibson) were quality instruments in my opinion for a decent dollar. As others have mentioned Seagull and Simon & Patrick are other good brands.

I personally like the new line of Epiphone acoustics as well.

My dream guitar is a Martin D-45. I got to play one in Calgary at Long and Mquade a while back. The guitar is 12,000 dollars. I'm still not sure its worth that kind of money, in fact I know its not. My old and battered Seagull acoustic mic'd up through my strawberry blonde amp still sounds mint.
