Throttle cables have been sticking for a long time and it is not unusual for people to get confused and push the wrong pedal, it's been happening for 100 years, morso then than now.
This whole "Toyota" thing has gotten allot of press, but people have been slamming into stationary objects & parking inside buildings since I can remember.
This is the same as the early 80's, exactly the same. Every car was tested back then because they were all doing it... riiight.
People panic and push down on the wrong pedal, it happens.
Statistically your probably more likely to be struck by lightning twice in a week than have your car take off on it's own. Consider how many safe throttle responses a day in the world compared to the "supposed" car at fault, acceleration crashes.
Remember that CHP cop that killed his whole family, he was talking to 911 instead of shutting down the car or putting it in neutral ??? Panic
