that's the one big thing i hope for the next time Canada gets a liberal government. there is no reason why this country shouldn't be reaping the tax benefits that would come after legalization, BC's weed industry would rival Alberta's oilfields

Legalizing pot is one thing, but there are still certain things that should be illegal to do while high, much like being drunk. However you can't just test a person for being high. When you pull someone over and they're high, there is no 'breathalyzer' for them. You need blood or urine which you cannot force someone to supply. In addition, pot stays in your system for weeks so it's harder to determine how recently someone smoked a joint.
