Eventually, people like us that are older and obsessed with putting things in cases and keeping them running for years will look like our grandparents, who we laughed at for wrapping their furniture in plastic.
I used to worry about scratches, where I’d find replacement battery packs in 3-5 years, proprietary cables, etc, and I still do to an extent. It’s a challenge to let go and realize that I probably won’t be using the same iPad in 5 years. Now I try to enjoy the devices more, such as not putting on a screen protector (but I still have a case - I can’t imagine taking an iPad outside the house without one). Data mobility is more important - how will I move my information forward to my next device, rather than how do I keep this device working for perpetuity.

Hilarious and terrifying for the same reason.
Also, for anybody with kids Talking Tom is pretty funny. It's just a cat that mimics what you say (in a high pitched chipmunk voice). Reactions range from creepy to annoying, but everybody laughs. It's free.
