I don't know about that, the trips that I took behind the woodshed when I misbehaved would probably be construed as child abuse and my dad would have been locked up for years.
We used to get the belt, or the paddle or when we were really young the ruler or the wooden spoon.
Yet I seem to be able to refrain from murder and torture and rape.
Punishment is all in the context of it. There are horrific parents out there, but sometimes a good paddlin is needed. There isn't enough of that happening nowadays.
