I'm lazy so I'll just repost what I've said elsewhere...

I don't really know who I'll vote for, but the mayor needs to have solid PR skills which is where Higgins has a definite advantage. Plus, I'd rather have someone who knows her inexperience and thus surrounds herself with competent people than someone who is convinced he knows what he is doing but is dead wrong. I also want someone who doesn't come across as a clown (Klein) or non-entity (Duerr); much as I think Bronconnier is a corporate puppet, at least he isn't an embarassment when he's representing Calgary.

Nenshi seems interesting, but he will need to get media-savvy pretty damn quick to have any chance at all. If I were him, I would've gotten into politics as an alderman first and established my rep rather than trying to get to mayor right away - if you don't have name recognition, you'd better have serious campaigning skills and lots of money backing you or you're really fighting an unwinnable battle.
