ever since i heard of the first x-men movie, and heard that glenn danzig WASN'T playing wolverine, then realized that hugh jackman wasn't that bad a fit, i've realized that second-guessing other mans' visions is geekboyism that contributes only to bad movies.

for examples see star trek movies.

movies are art.

art is interpretation.

as soon as the masses (us...) start making decisions like this bad things happen to art.

why were the star wars prequels SO bad?

because message boards filled up with geekboys describing in excruciating detail what HAD to be in the movies.

boba fett was a hugely popular character for his brief screen time in the originals. solution? MORE BOBA FETT!

brutal what this culture has become, sad that movies are not that brave anymore, hollywood is catering to the geekboys. we will never see big-budget poductions of any science fiction that take serious artistic license, everything will be word-for-word from the adapted book or chatroom compilation.

ick.

goodbye brave david lynch 'dune', hello terrible new miniseries that the geekboys love.

goodbye 'logan's run', 'silent running', and 'the illustrated man', hello 'jar jar binks'

<shudder>
