One of my friends just did his first performance at Broken City.
Scoped it out one week, met the guy who runs it, was told that if he shows up a seven he'll get a five-minute spot (show starts at eight). Next week, he was on stage.
Guy said too though that after your first performance you're not special anymore so you'd probably get about one spot a month until you build up a reputation.
