Anyone ever done this or know what the consequences are... My brother rented a car in the states for a holiday, but as he only has prepaid credit cards he did it from a smaller car rental company that allows prepaid Credit cards (not a hertz or other international one) He then after spending a few weeks in the states as planned drove to Creston B.C. with the car, across the border, he kept the car longer than he was supposed to and kept extending the return date when the guy phoned him by a day or two - he did this 4 times and the guy got a little worried apparently... he was on his way back to return it today... should be there already and the rental guy called my brothers wife and was threatening police action (basically accusing them of stealing the car) she explained that he was on his way but I guess the car is not allowed in Canada, never was... so the rental guy is freaking out, My brothers phone does not work in the states for some reason so we have no idea where he is and the rental guy says taking a rental car across the border is a big deal and the custom agents wont just let him through... basically I figure my brother is in deep caca... but I have no idea how much... Anyone have any incite on what will be happening to him? how much trouble he is in? my sister in law is freaking out.
