I'm not a huge fan, but I certainly don't hate them.
I find it funny how everyone can go from loving them to hating them so quickly. When Silverside Up first came out they were one of the most popular bands in North America. You always heard their music being played, and generally folks couldn't get enough of them. Then, out comes The Long Road. Same style of catchy music, nothing overly new or dramatic. But, everyone suddenly hates them. Why I simply can't figure out. Is it infact because they "fit the sterotypical Canadian band" mold? Even if it is, I don't see that as a valid reason for hating them so much... They put out catchy music and have never done anything worthy of actually being disliked. And so what if Chad is an ass? There are so many rockstars that are complete jerk offs, but people still love their music... Lars from Metallica is a total dink, but you don't hear people saying Metallica is a bunch of trash and they hate them, do you? (well, maybe their newer stuff) Or to get into newer music a little bit... Bert, the singer of The Used, he's one of the biggest ******* you could ever meet, but their fanbase is absolutely huge these days.
And yes, I do have their new CD. It was cheap, so I thought "why not?".
