Hell, Microsoft never once responded to those ######ed mac vs pc ads, even though some of them bordered on ridiculous.
IMO better PR would have been along the lines of "Apple revolutionized the smart phone, we have revolutionized touch screen interfaces, and as an industry innovator and leader, we will solve this problem as well"
Instead we get "but THEY DO IT TOOO!!!! WAH WAH WAH!!!!"

Microsoft took a TON of heat for not responding to the
Get a Mac campaign and when the finally decided to get in the game, the released ads staring a retired employee and an irrelevant comic who talked about loafers and chiros. It took them YEARS to come up with a half decent campaign.
