Yeah, I'd heard Sony systems can be difficult to develop for in comparison. Of course, I'm no developer, so I know next to nothing about that. =P

I imagine that once HD becomes more 'standard' (like A/V plugs are now - and provided HD doesn't eventually get replaced by something else), the companies would box HDMI cables in with their consoles. Since it was cheap, it didn't bother me. Back when I bought component cables, they were $40 for the Sony brand and $40 for Nintendo-brand ones for my Wii. I believe each company puts out their own first-party HDMI cables too (except Nintendo. Why doesn't the Wii support HD?!) but I just bought some 3rd party one this time around.
