He was approached at a gas station in Calgary and was told that there was a extra unit delivered to them and they just wanted to sell it fast so they offered to sell it to him for $1500. The price on the box said $6,999 which was obviously (not so obvious to him) fake. He countered with $800 and they accepted and he baught it. The unit apparently works, but is horrible quality and not even worth $150.

Some will say this isn't a scam, but anyways be careful for these guys around Calgary.

Yep, pretty standard scam, it's been going on for years. Although, more commonly they try to sell stereos rather than TV's.
