Who becomes mayor will probably play a part in whether I move back to Calgary, or somewhere else like Toronto/Vancouver. In my mind a vote for McIver is a mandate for continued petty politics and short-sightedness. Calgary has shown a lot of signs of wanting to take steps forward and becoming a real city, and it needs a group of leaders with a strong vision in order to do that. While a Mayor is only one vote on council, that person really does symbolize the direction and voice of a city.....and a city without forward direction is disheartening. A half-decade or more of that? No thanks.
