I'm giving some love to swimming in this thread. As mentioned above, I injured myself pretty bad and was off working out for a long time. I forced myself to go back about 4 weeks ago and did myself in again.
During that time I started going to the pool and it was great. I'd go for about 15-20 min each night and it really helped me stay in decent shape while I healed up.
I'm still not fully healed and have been advised not to do any running, squats, heavy-lifts, or a really high number of reps. The cardio I can do is the elipitical, bike, and swimming, with swimming being the best option.
