My question for you isn't based around the addiction part, but around being a healthy person.
Do you exercise? Eat right? I know some recovering alcoholics that say that learning how to live as a healthy individual really helped them with their addiction.
I know for me I love beer. But because of the empty carbs and the bloated, sick feelings that comes after a 6-pack, I stay away from alcohol as much as possible except when I'm in social situations.
Its also important your family knows about your problem and can help you. Nothing worse than a family gathering where everyone is drinking beer and nobody realizes that you probably shouldn't be in such a situation because of self control issues.
