Yeah I was so bummed. I had built a nice little guitar tab database on the desktop Bento that had the usual fields (song title, artist, album, etc), plus a combo box to choose the tuning, an embedded audio track, and finally a big text field to hold the tab itself.
Imagine my utter horror when I plunk down $5 for iPad Bento and discover that while you CAN design layouts on the iPad, all text fields can only be 3 lines high. I couldn’t even view one full bar of tablature, needing 6 lines for that. I was so pissed off I didn’t bother hanging on to the app and waiting for updates.
Not that you want to wait for updates for Bento anyways - they charge for their yearly updates on the desktop side, adding precious little to the product other than to correct bugs like the one that caused records with links to old appointments to permanently disappear without warning. Fixing that bug only took about 6 months, and only after they spent 3 of those months claiming it couldn’t be fixed. Oh, and maybe a design gallery so you can download pretty looking versions of DB’s that have data loss bugs.
Just a garbage app all around.
