I wouldn't be surprised if it was true. My average in ANY OTHER YEAR would have won me the Governor General medal... and then the guy ahead of me got a 100% average.
So it happens, but I also think it's stupid. Nobody can write a perfect English essay! (Not that I'm biased or anything
