I knew a girl in HS who was uber book smart, but absolutely dense when it came to street smarts.

She discovered partying and fun two years after highschool, subsequently went overboard, crashed her car through a bus shelter and into a cop car when hammered at 10:30 am.

But wow was she good at math and science.
