I doubt most people even associate him with the idea of bidding for the olympics, let alone support the idea!
McIver is the front runner as well....despite what the poll shows here on CP, or the courage network, there is a pretty clear sentiment that McIver will get more than 5th place.
Frankly this comes down to 2 maybe 3 combatants come September. McIver and Hehr and perhaps Nenshi. Naheed does well on these internet polls, but that is a skewed demographic and in the real world I'm not so sure it translates. If I had to guess today I would say a poll would look something like this:
McIver 35%
Hehr 27%
Nenshi 9%
Rest and undecided: 29%
In other news only semi-related I met a Joe Connelly supporter. OK....I kind of lied. My wife met him, but he wasn't Joe and was actually a supporter of him! I didn't know that any existed!!
