Not a basetball fan, but I found this pretty interesting. I think sports fans by and large have accepted the business side of things, and know they could lose their favourite players in free agency.

But I have to agree this was a complete bitch slap to the face of the Cavalier supporters. The tv special was a bad idea from the beginning. All it did was build up James as having some sort of god complex and then make Cleveland seem like they weren't worth his presence there. I don't blame those fans for their anger.

Everyone is going to be cheering against the Heat now, I hope they end up having personality conflicts and it ends up tearing the team apart. But they could well win a few championships. Who knows.

Anyways, the day of the sports hero/icon is long gone. Other than Jarome Iginla there is barely anyone worthy of that old fashion fan/player mutual respect.
