The last time we went to the WC was also under a European. Canadian hockey coaches get hired around the world to improve their local teams, I don't see a problem with us doing the same.

That's all well and good if it doesn't mean paying a premium simply because a guy has a German accent. My whole issue with the foreign coach argument is when people start talking about bringing in a B or C list European coach and throwing a bunch of cash at them. I really don't care about nationality of the coach, I just care about spending a limited budget intelligently.
