The penal code in Iran requires 4 male witnesses or 3 male and 2 female, before a sentence of Stoning can be handed down.

There were 0 witnesses. Not one single male or female. Yet, they are still sentencing her to Stoning.

Now for the real scary part... Imagine being buried in the ground, standing up, until only your chest, shoulders and head are exposed. Then imagine that grown men are throwing rocks at you... rocks big enough to hurt but not nearly enough to kill... for hours until you are slowly bludgeoned to death...

All for a crime that they couldn't even prove that you did.

Some of the "sucks to be her" posts in this thread are almost as sickening as the act itself.
It also reminds me of the 8th Chapter of the Gospel of John. There's a story of a women caught in adultery there. As I alluded to before, she's alone in the story. But it takes two to commit adultery, if she was caught, where's the man who must also have been caught?

This is a very similar modern day story, except that where Jesus "pardons" the woman in the Bible story, this women is likely going to be killed for it.

It's obvious that there's something other than adultery going on here, or this woman wouldn't be alone in having accusations against her. Even if the man was unmarried, he still would be "breaking the law" as fornication is prohibited as well.
