My battery lasts way longer on my Bold 9700 than it ever did on my iPhone. I get immediate email...sorry, but the email was flaky on the iPhone. Gmail was not pushed for me on the iPhone. I had to use a Yahoo account and even then, it came when the phone felt like saying it was there. I use Gmail on my Bold and I send a message from any other account and I get it instantly.
Overall the iPhone is better for surfing (which I don't do - I have a 22" WS monitor and computer for that) and games, as well as a bunch of useless apps. There are some good apps of course, but man there is a lot of crap for the iPhone. Takes hours to wade through the crap to find something useful. A lot of "novelty" apps and "games".
I've been able to download apps that I use everyday on my BB for free from BB AppWorld, I get my email instantly and I use it as a home phone now (cancelled our landline) and I know that the battery will not die a quick death on me and phone calls sound great.
My Bold is also much more configurable with thousands upon thousands of themes out there. Meanwhile, I was stuck with one look for the iPhone unless I wanted to jailbreak it and cause issues as well as reboots, etc.
To me, it just seems more "grown up". That again, is my PERSONAL opinion.

Hehe... yeah if you are old or can't figure out how to set up an iPhone, the BB is probably much better
