Although I'm a supporter of the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, they are pretty much the only policies of Bush's I support. I don't like faith-based policy making. I don't like leaders who are openly religious and I would say that's probably a common opinion of ordinary citizens in most western democracies.

However, you would have to admit, in the USA these days, a drift towards faith-based policy making does reflect to some extent the increasing religious fervor of the nation. Its not as though religion isn't important in the lives of ordinary people in other nations - its that they don't commonly elect people so overtly religious in their policy-making.
