Most Christians feel they are moved to action by their faith and God. It doesn't necessarily mean they meet him at Starbucks for a latte and discuss matters. It also doesn't mean they believe they actually have a pipeline for verbalization with their God. It's more likely that it means that the morality they possess is attributed by them to be derived from their faith. I would wager that Bush isn't the first President to use this kind of verbage, but he's probably the first to be demonized over it. As a matter of fact, if you look hard enough I'll bet you can find leaders from nearly every industrialized nation who have said similar things in the past. Try too look past the literal, I know it's tough for someone with blinders on but you can probably manage it.
