Front court of Boozer-Horford Bibby on point and Smith and Johnson on the wings would be a formidable lineup and have the Crawfords, Teague and Evans off the bench. I would think they would have to somehow get rid of Marvin Williams for it to work and also Childress wants back in the NBA and I expect a sign and trade to happen with him.
Do you think that JJ is the right answer for a go-to guy? I truly believe that Al Horford has that ability in him far more than JJ. That's because Al seems to play within his limits and uses his teammates, while JJ thinks he can do whatever he wants, but he really isn't on the level of Wade or Lebron or even a Paul Pierce.

I do agree that a 2nd big man to help out Horford would have been amazing. But, again, with the JJ contract, I don't think there is any way for the Hawks to afford one.

Frankly, I see this signing like how I viewed the Rashard Lewis signing for my Magic a couple years back. Orlando basically bid against themselves by offering the max. I don't think any other team would've offered anywhere near the money the Hawks gave, and really they could've saved 30-40 million off the deal.
