Yeah if it's SATA there won't be jumpers and you can ignore all the master/slave talk. If you've tried all the ports, and the original HD works fine, chances are the hard drive's controller is messed up. Can you still take it back?

The only other thing to try is different cables. Try out the cable from the working HD and see if the PC will POST.
