Have you tried specifically Amplitube 3? I agreed with you until this new version. It sounds amazing. You have so much flexibility, especially being able to grab the mics and position them wherever you want. Side to side and farther away/closer. Its freaking nuts.

You can download a 10-day full functioning demo of Amplitube 3 from IK Multimedia's website. I actually used it for tracking someone's demo and we got er done before the demo ran out! Then you pay for your liscence code and enter it and keep going.

I DO NOT work for IK Multimedia!
