Secondsly watch ANY rugby game (including 8 year olds) and you'll see a bunch of guys wearing no pads who get hit WAY harder than any soccer player several times throughout the game. I'll bet you can count on less than 1 finger the number of guys you see rolling around clutching a body part, only to get up as soon as a penalty is awarded.
For the record, both these guys finished their games (though I'm only assuming in Beckham's case)
I'd say one of two things can explain this.
1) Soccer players are a bunch of divers
2) Yellow/Red cards have some sort of magical healing powers that really should be looked into.
