Or maybe the mis-understanding comes where you believe this should only apply to Apple and not other companies?

I'm saying that everything Apple does is dissected and rehashed a million times per day on the Internet. Yes - this has been the experience for many organizations online - but not to the same extent, I think.
Samsung, HP and Hitachi don't receive the same popular attention that Apple does.
Sometimes this can cause a small flaw to look more widespread than it truly is. For good or bad, something that effects .1% of users becomes a big deal on the Internet.
To be clear, I'm not saying this in blind defense of Apple. What I'm definitely not saying is that people should avoid picking on Apple because I think they should take it. But I think we do need to keep some perspective because Apple is (and probably always will be) an inflammatory topic.
Last Edit: People can be quick to polarize the debate when Apple comes into play. Talking PC vs Mac is like bringing up politics or religion on a first date. I'm not a blind Apple supporter. I don't even own an iPhone.
