I guess I mis-understood your observation.
I thought you were stating that because Apple is a top company in their industry that flaws in their product are looked upon harsher than what you believe they should be.
If they weren't at the top, their flaws wouldn't be criticized as much.
I took a competitor of Apple's (because it's easier to relate, but any industry would work) and stated that if consumers didn't criticize all the minor flaws in their products, then their competitors (which in this case would be Apple) wouldn't have moved up in the "rankings" like they did.
Or maybe the mis-understanding comes where you believe this should only apply to Apple and not other companies?
