You waited the extra 5-10 minutes just so you didn't have to stand. If she was sick and needed to sit she just as well could have waited for the next train like you did. It sounds like she was also condescending. If she was polite it would have been a kind gesture but it is still your choice.
For a guy with a broken leg no problem, for a guy in wheelchair no problem, for the old people who it's difficult to stand in a moving train no problem. Because I know they appreciate it. For a condescending @#$% not a chance.
If you got a car, take it. So much for trying to do the right thing. If we worked at the same place I would drive you myself.
