Here's my thing about this.
I recently had ACL surgery, but you wouldn't know it to look at me, I'm the same age as the OP and in good shape however sometimes when I stand stationary for a long time, my knee really begins to bother me. If I have a seat on the C-Train (I take it every day), I don't give it to anyone else, unless it is an elderly individual or a pregnant woman.
If this lady had asked me to give her my seat, I would have refused, and I would have explained why. Does that make me a bad person? I don't think so.
The truth is you just don't know from looking at someone what their underlying physical condition may be. On the outside I look completely physically healthy, but unless you asked me, you wouldn't know that I had recently had surgery.
Pretty presumptuous of that lady in my opinion. But good on you for not making a big fuss over it bud.
