If you take your kids to the mall or wherever, at some point they will be tired of being carried or being in a stroller/wagon or whatever. They just want to get out and run. The leash backpack just allows his/her running to be somewhat controlled and can be a life saver. You can't always have your eyes on your little one and any parent who says they can - well then you should go talk to Chris Angel cause you'd be a magician.

If I was a parent and going to the mall with my kid(s), I'd go there for reasonable amount of time. That means get what I need and be out of there as soon as possible. Or I wouldn't take them at all. But that's just me.
