Laugh. That doesn't even make sense.

As a centrist, I'm sure you'll find the following story quite disturbing. It seems that much of the government of Afghanistan is corrupt and the production of narcotics is essentially legal. Clearly that is a negative and the Bush administration's handling of Afghanistan has been quite inadequate if things have gone this far. Right? I mean anyone without a clear affinity for either side will have to admit that this is quite a bad development.

Why doesn't it make sense? Hating chomsky was one of the criteria that proves that I am "rightwing". I think that is incredibly silly. So I replied in kind.

As for the developments of Afghanistan. Did you expect everything to go right? I sure didn't. Yet it seems those that were/are against the invasion seem to have taken the stance that if Afghanistan is not Narnia the place is in shambles. Not what it was versus what it is like now. I not sure how anyone can say things have gotten worse. And the way the media works today the more sensational the story the more money they make. Feel good stories just don't cut it in info-tainment.

As for the running of Afghanistan it is a UN job. The US's 18,000 troops are separate and have a hunt and kill mission in regards to the Taleban and Al-Queda.

Maybe you didn't get the story, I read it here in Japan, but the Afghan army, trained by the Canadians, has been on the frontier fighting with the Taleban.
