Assuming automatically it was a drug lab may be a little premature:
The cause of the explosion is not known at this time, crews continue to investigate if propane or natural gas played a role. They say at this point there is no evidence to indicate a drug lab or an explosive device could be behind the blast.
"I'm told by investigators that there is no indication at this point that the blast was caused by an explosive device or a drug lab. However, the investigation remains active and on-going," explained da Costa.
It wasnt to long ago a training house blew apart near Wainright when volunteer firefighters were using. Seems more of natural gas realted but who knows. Have to wait and see what the investigation says. However it was interesting the DEcontamination truck was there, that is a tell tale sign of drug lab.
On an unrelated note it looks like a bad weekend got worse around Edmonton with a young RCMP officer dieing in car accident just west of the city. Sad considering she was looking for a drunk.:

An RCMP officer was killed in a fiery crash on Highway 16 early Monday morning.
Police have identified Stony Plain RCMP officer Const. Chelsey Alice Robinson as the victim. She died after her police cruiser was involved in a collision with a semi-truck trailer.
Police say the officer was patrolling the area on a report of an impaired driver when her cruiser collided with the semi near the intersection of Highway 16 and Range Road 15, near Stony Plain around 12:45 a.m.
The semi eventually came to a stop near a grassy median where it became engulfed in flames. The driver managed to escape the blaze. Police say the driver of the semi suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Police say 25-year-old Robinson was taken to hospital where she later died. The young officer had only been on the job with the RCMP for seven months.
The RCMP continue to investigate.
