I think this is more of a South African problem than a FIFA problem
For example, companies bid for a FIFA contract and the winner is in charge of hiring people. They decided to screw the workers who then go on strike. What are the laws in South Africa, is there minimum wage?
And from the Globe and Mail reports, people can go anywhere. It's not total lockdown like it was in 2006 Germany and 2020 Japan.
Security is there but South Africans are so polite and friendly (and in some cases not the brightest), and things happen. You could probably give a guard a few bucks and he'll smile and let you through.
