I really don't know what it is about Chinese drivers, but it is not a myth. I am as racially tolerant as you could possibly be, and have no hate on for anyone because of their race. But when I was a sales person in the car business, the most terrifying test drives were either Chinese drivers, or Russians. I only had to ever pull the keys out of the ignition at a light 3 times, and all 3 times it was a Chinese driver. I honestly think there is some mysterious genetic something or other at play. Russians in the other hand were terrifyingly aggressive, and could care less about road signs or rules. They also believe that gas pedals are toggle switches, either all the way on, or off.
On the other hand, Japanese people tended to be some of the best drivers I ever ran into. But by far, Germans were the cream of the crop when it came to attentiveness and driving skill. Pretty much anyone from Western European countries had their stuff together.
Sorry to say it, but your average Canadian driver is amateur compared to most western European drivers. But then again its tough to blame them, when we have been brainwashed into thinking a Civic Si or a Sunfire GT is somehow a performance vehicle, or that driving a 4WD 1/2 ton in snow some how requires "skill".
