Warren said that he raised his kids as any normal family... they didn't live lives of complete luxury. To which Bill said he could attest to since the wooden chairs at Warren's place didn't even have seat cushions and hurt your butt after a half hour....
Edit: Okay, I read the link now.. it was FOUR years ago he made the pledge.
I don't like this. Not one bit. Wealth distribution is wrong and giving money to the poor only enables them to be lazy. People will be less likely to want to have the drive to innovate and motive to work hard if they are going to be asked to give up 50% of their estate. Buffett is an evil, evil man.

I agree to a point about this, but by the sounds of it he isnt cutting every poor person in the world a cheque. if someone is in need of help and go to proper channel i have no problem with charity.

Millions of people who regularly contribute to churches, schools, and other organizations thereby relinquish the use of funds that would otherwise benefit their own families. The dollars these people drop into a collection plate or give to United Way mean forgone movies, dinners out, or other personal pleasures. In contrast, my family and I will give up nothing we need or want by fulfilling this 99% pledge.

I approve of this.
