They also beat Cal in the Poinsettia Bowl in 2009 and Alabama in the 2009 Sugar Bowl (granted they lost to Oregon early last year).
Utah is a legit program despite recruiting in competition with BYU in Utah and not being able to advertise membership in a big conference. That changes now. I expect really significant growth from them. Also, this year they play Pitt at home, Notre Dame in South Bend and BYU at home. Should be a good measuring stick to see where theyre at.

There's no debating that Utah is a legit program, I just don't think they'll contend right away. Sure they've done well against pac-10 teams lately but it's not hard to beat a good team at home when your schedule is cupcake, cupcake, cupcake, semi-decent team, cupcake, cupcake, legit challenge, cupcake, cupcake, semi-decent team, bowl game that the other team doesn't care about. Like I said they've done poorly on the road against the pac-10 in the last decade with their only victory coming in 2004 against an eventual 3-8 Arizona team.
Pitt, ND, TCU and BYU are all great teams but the rest of their games are gimmies. Getting ready for 2-3 tough games a year is a lot easier than having to play in one every week.
