We got our cat from the MEOW foundation. They have all ages of cats, and can tell you if the cat gets along with other cats, which may be more important in you rsituation. You foster the cat for a month to make sure you get along. If not, they can offer you a different cat, or just pick it up.
You go to a house where they keep their cats, and as you see a cat they will tell you its tempermant.
And it is non-profit, they do it for the love of cats.
Do what you want, but most rescue foundations are doing it for the love of the animals.
