We used Brightmail, it sucked so we switched to Barracuda. We don't use Fortigate for spam, we use it for firewall and it has been doing the job.
With Brightmail we were blocking about 6000 spam mails per day. Switched to Barracuda and we immediately saw less spam in our inboxes, and the daily report showed that we were blocking 7000 per day. Now we're up to 12000 blocked spam per day.
