If you had read my posts more carefully through the entirety of the thread, I was addressing what appears to me to be an emerging sub-issue seperate from the primary debate. Said issue being that I noticed some posters were insinuating that her motivations for attempting this to begin with were something other than a personal challenege of courage and perseverance. I commented that if everyone thought along the lines of these insinuations, being that nobody does anything "hard " without some alterior motive, we would all still be living in caves.
Then I wrote a skit about the wheel, and MelBridgmann rightly pointed out that it was not a life or death scenario. So I tried again. The idea being is that "Lug" was inventing the wheel and boat not because he wanted recognition or an ego-stroke over "doing something hard," but rather many of the people throughout history who have accomplished "hard" things are actually quite selfless and ultimately self-motivated without the need for accolades or recognition of their efforts.
Clear?
