It’s not really meaningless when the rays are only 2 games up on the Yankees for first place with Boston and the jays not far behind. If jays were to have swept this series would have put you guys 3 or so games back for first place. Have you given up on your team all ready? Its not even July yet you are still in contention yet the 3rd of 3 huge series in a row for your team is meaningless?
Rays are averaging 50 percent attendance at home which is not great. Not making excuses but to get from Tampa to St Pete for a lot of fans on a weekday is quite the trek through traffic. St Pete has 250 000 people living there with 2.7 Million in the Tampa Bay area. Toronto Has 2.5 million in the city alone and 5.5 in the GTA. Just based on those numbers Toronto should be pulling in a lot more fans.
Third last in the league in attendance while being 11th in league in overall standings and still putting together a good season thus far is something to worry about.
