The Winter Olympics cant be hosted by alot of countries and for those who can likely see it especially durring these times as more money than they are worth.
Have an Edmonton/Calgary winter games where the only major infrastructure needed is a high speed rail system and I think you could win that. Calgary would have to capitulate in giving the opening/closing ceremonies to Edmonton because of the larger stadium of course.

I doubt a Calgary/Edmonton bid, much less winning bid, would ever be in the cards. Just too far apart even with the HSR link, especially once you take into account that the alpine events would be another jaunt to the west.
I agree that sometime in the 2030s for Calgary is more realistic. Something like 2034 maybe. I have to give Mr. Stewart marks for thinking big though.
