At the risk of being pummelled, I think you are making the presumption that a rescue cat/kitten will be feral . . . . . in fact, it could be that a domesticated momma cat and her kittens who were dropped off and the latter would meet any criteria for warmth and cuddliness you would want.
We have two feral rescue cats who spent their first formative months in the wild and you are right to presume they are far from your normal domesticated version even though they've been indoor cats for about four years now.
We also have two other rescue cats that came from a domesticated environment and are delightful in terms of personality and warmth.
If warmth and cuddliness is what you want, you don't have to automatically rule out a rescue kitten.
