There is pressure for sure. If England score in the first 20 minutes then it's easy sailing but if it remains 0-0 or heaven forbid USA score first than those demons will return.

US has enough speed to hit on the counter, that'll be their strategy on Saturday.
You could repeat that first line for every past tournament, tournaments in which the majority of the England side played in. This isn't an inexperienced lot, they've been through that whole ordeal before. Actually there was more scrutiny in 06 with the tournament being in Europe. And a Champions League final is a pretty strong comparison actually, I don't think the pressure of an opening match actually compares to that of a one game do or die match. If you can handle the pressure of the biggest club game in the world you can handle that of an opening round match.

Almost every team in the tournament has enough speed to hit on the counter if players are pulled out of position, that's the nature of top flight football. The US isn't particularly impressive in that regard, but they are capable. They certainly don't have a speed advantage.

ANything can happen in a game, but I expect England to win relatively comfortably. I'll say 2-0.
