They should have lost to Japan, and a lackluster 3-0 win over a lowly South African club team have been unimpressive.
The USA are not World-beaters by any means, but England are not all that intimidating in their current form either.

ya fair enough, I don't really look at these friendly's much for form because most of the managers are experimenting with formations, players etc.
Capello has said as much that he doesn't care about their friendly record, they work on more important stuff in training
I remember in 2006 Italy had a terrible run in to the world cup with their friendly's and lots of people were predicting them to get knocked out in the group stages, and then they allowed 1 goal and walked to 1st place in their group and went on to win the world cup.
